Undead Labs hat angekündigt, dass State of Decay noch dieses Jahr für den PC erscheinen wird. Es wird zuerst in einer speziellen Version über den Steam Early Access verfügbar sein, in der man zwingend einen Controller zum Spielen benötigt. Nach dem offiziellen Release wird natürlich auch die Maus und Tastatur unterstützt.
Vom Inhalt her, wird die PC-Version gleich mit der Xbox Live-Version sein, nur mit höher aufgelösten Texturen, allgemein besserer Grafik und einer höheren Framerate. Es wird keine integrierten Mod-Tools geben.
Es wurde außerdem der Sandbox-Mode geteasert und Undead’s Sanya Weathers hat es im offiziellen Forum wie folgt zusammengefasst:
“Without going into too much detail (although details are coming within a week), you start in the world, build your community, clean the valley out – and when it runs dry, you can leave with some portion of your community and go to “the next valley.” The next valley is the same map, repopulated with resources…but harder. More zombies. More difficulty. Just…more.”
