Minecraft könnte bald für 3DS und Wii U erscheinen

Nintendo denkt darüber nach, Minecraft auf Nintendo’s Konsolen zu portieren. Diese Vermutung beruht auf einigen Aussagen vom Nintendo Vorstand.

Shigeru Miyamoto und Shinya Takahashi, beide im Vorstand von Nintendo’s internationalen Entwickler-Teams, sagten gegenüber Kotaku, dass Mojang’s beliebtes Crafting-Spiel gut zum Nintendo 3DS und der Wii U passen würde. Die Touch-Steuerung des Wii U Gamepad und des 3DS würde Minecraft ein noch breiteres Publikum verschaffen. Takahashi sagte:

“We’ve always thought internally that using the GamePad would probably make for a Minecraft that’s very easy to play. And, of course, if we were to do something with Minecraft on the 3DS, similarly we would probably do it where it would be easier to play and could probably reach a lot of kids.”

Der Fokus bei der Portierung von Minecraft läge darin, dass man damit so viele Benutzer wie möglich erreichen könne. Er fuhr fort:

“What’s interesting is that, in Japan, Minecraft is not popular in the way it is in the U.S. and Europe, so we’ve also thought that, if we were able to do a partnership like that, it might bring opportunity to help make Minecraft more popular in Japan.”

Miyamoto verriet außerdem, dass er das Game noch nie gespielt hat, aber das für ihn kein Hindernis für die Portierung darstelle. Laut ihm wäre nur auf Nintendo-Geräten die optimale Touch-Steuerung möglich: “Our hardware is the only hardware that you can do both the touch control and stick control.”

Minecraft gibt es mittlerweile für Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3 und mobile Geräte. Eine Version für die PlayStation 4, PS Vita und Xbox One erscheint im August.

Mojang könnte mit einer Portierung von Minecraft für Nintendo-Konsolen einen richtig großen Deal landen.
