Das Entwicklerstudio Beamdog hat angekündigt, dass sich ein neues Baldur’s Gate Rollenspiel in Entwicklung befindet. Beamdog hat bereits die Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition entwickelt.
Momentan gibt es kaum Informationen zum neuen Spiel, aber es wird die Infinity-Engine verwenden und soll die Lücke zwischen der Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition und Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition schließen. Beamdog schrieb dazu:
“We have an exciting release planned for this game, something bigger than we’ve ever done before,”
“If you’re looking for more information on Adventure Y [the studio’s codename for the game], check out these pictures which were mysteriously leaked to the forums.”
Beamdog sagte, dass sich ein “richtiges” Baldur’s Gate III momentan noch nicht in Entwicklung befindet. Trent Oster von Beamdog sagte dazu:
“We are interested in doing a Baldur’s Gate III,”
“We continue to pester the fine fellows at the Wizards of the Coast on a frequent basis about developing the game. To date we haven’t managed to come to an agreement. The plan is to wear them down on until they just give in.”
